The downside of self-publishing ...

Posted: 6/8/2015

For me, the downside of self-publishing is that my books are not readily available for purchase in bookshops and supermarkets. I know that this is where many people like to browse and choose their reading material. In the past I would have included myself in this group as you can see from my shelfie (and still do to a large extent) but my habits are changing and I have also discovered some brilliant books and authors through the internet and social media... Talli Roland, Becky Monson, Linda MacDonald, Julie Houston, Terry Tyler, Evie Gaughan, Tracie Banister, Samantha Tonge, Susan Buchanan, Holly Martin to name but a few, not to mention also being introduced to completely new genres...eg Ben Hatch, Carol Hedges, Michael O'Hara etc. etc

So what about my own books? How can you get your hands on a copy?

If you prefer to read a PAPERBACK, you can order a copy from any good bookshop in the UK. I can particularly recommend Waterstones. Just give them my name and/or the title and/or the ISBN. They will generally have the book for you within a few days. (The Belfast Branch may well have a copy on their shelves without the need to order.)

A VOICE FROM THE PAST                          ISBN 9781783060047

IN THE GREATER SCHEME OF THINGS   ISBN 9781783063963

    BLOOD IS THICKER                                     ISBN 9781784623746

Alternatively you can buy the paperback version from the Amazon website and it will usually be delivered to you by return.

Another option is to buy a copy direct from the Matador Bookshop online (Troubador Publishing Ltd), also for immediate dispatch.

IF YOU PREFER TO READ AN eBOOK, ALL THREE TITLES ARE AVAILABLE FROM MOST eBOOK SUPPLIERS, INCLUDING AMAZON KINDLE.

So there are actually plenty of options! Self-publishing is definitely the way forward for independent thinkers like myself - no hassle, no deadlines, no rules. I love it.

    Happy reading!!

...and please do get in touch if you read any of my books. I love to connect with readers.
